F.A.Q. – Week Two

This is a new message series format, in which Father answers questions about faith/doctrine, pastoral questions (how to apply church teaching to our lives), and our parish (why we do what we do at St. Pius). We answer these questions from the perspective of the Catholic Church (scripture and tradition), as well as our own opinions (parish-specific questions). Parishioners sent in questions ahead of time, via our web site. — This week, our Parish Mission and Vision Statements.

F.A.Q. – Week One

The first week of our “F.A.Q. – Faith Answering Questions” Message Series.

Half-Truth – Week Five

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:6-10Half-Truth Explored: “God won’t give us more than we can handle.”In this message, we refute the lie that God does not give us more than we can handle. On the contrary, God wants us to walk by faith and not by sight. This means the life of faith will lead us to times where we feel helpless.  God is the ultimate helper and healer, and is there to hold us through all the trials of life.

Half-Truth – Week Four

Week Four: The Eucharist (Corpus Christi)Scripture:  Mark 14:12-16, 22-26Half-Truth Explored: “The Holy Eucharist is just a symbol.”   In this message, we will look at how the Eucharist is more than just a symbol, but is actually Jesus’ true presence.  We will also look at the difference Holy Communion makes in our lives.
