Final weekend for in-person mass

Final weekend for in-person mass

All our masses will be held as scheduled this weekend, but this will be the last in-person gathering until late in May. Along with other restrictions to combat the spread of the COVID19 virus, Ontario announced today that attendance at religious services is limited to 10 people effective Monday, and the Diocese of Hamilton has determined that all Churches will be closed effective that day.

It is possible (but “strongly discouraged” ) to celebrate Funeral masses with a total of 10 people. Rite of Christian Burial at the cemetery is the preferred service during this time. Of course, mass may be offered for the repose of the soul of the deceased at any time.

Live-streaming
We will continue to celebrate our 11:00 am live-streamed Sunday Mass with attendance limited to ministers and those helping with the stream. (Less than 10 people). We also plan to continue live-streaming our weekday Masses according to the usual schedule. (Monday @ 6:30 pm; Tuesday – Thursday @ 8:00 am) All of these at live.stpiusbrantford.ca and http://facebook.com/stpiusbrantford
 First Communion Masses
The Mass scheduled for Saturday at 1:30 pm will go ahead as scheduled. Other first communion masses will be rescheduled once we have emerged from the shutdown.
