St. Pius already meets 15% attendance limit
Ontario premier Rob Ford’s announcement today of a new provincial shutdown includes a requirement that attendance at religious services be no more than 15% of capacity. Because of our strict adherence to physical distancing when we originally set out our COVID seating plan, 15% is actually much closer to the numbers we have been working with since June than to the government’s previous limit of 30%.
What this means for you/us this Easter
While most of our Easter liturgies are already within the 15% limit, if attendance is increased over a regular weekend a few may need to be seated in the parish hall. Also, we recognize that some who have registered may no longer feel comfortable attending. So we share the following information. If you are:
- already registered and still plan to attend – do nothing;
- already registered and decide not to attend – email Andrew Beach at email@example.com so that we can fill those seats from our waiting list;
- registered for Good Friday 3:00 pm or Easter Sunday 10:00 am and plan to attend – do nothing, if we need to reduce attendance at those liturgies, we will email based on the date of your registration
We remind you also, that with the exception of the 8:00 am Easter Sunday mass, all the liturgies of the Easter Triduum (Thursday – Sunday) will be live-streamed at https://live.stpiusbrantford.ca OR facebook.com/stpiusbrantford
Our parish will be busy during Holy Week and over the Easter weekend. So busy in fact that we will be taking a Parish Holiday on Easter Monday which means that …
There will be no Mass on Easter Monday, April 5th.
