Digital Hosting: Some General Notes
Thank you so much for taking the time to assist both our parishioners and visitors by acting as Digital Hosts. Your role is an important one that allows people to feel welcomed and listened to. While the role is somewhat different depending on whether you are interacting with others on Facebook or our website, the general goals and guidelines are the same.
We have compiled a few resources here to assist you in your ministry. The general job description for the Digital Host Minister is available below, as are some general tips for how to host online. Please scroll down for further information on your individual hosting job – through Facebook or on the website.
Facebook Hosting is, unfortunately, an area in which we can provide fewer resources. While our Website Host team have a variety of resources that have been compiled by other churches, we will need to create our own materials for Facebook going forward. A brief support guide is below.
Below you will find two different guides that have been created to assist you in this ministry. The first is designed to assist you with the practical aspects of your hosting responsibilities. The second is to assist you with Live Prayer requests.
Digital Welcome Desk Binder
Over the coming weeks I’ll be putting together an equivalent of the Welcome Desk Binder in online form to assist you in your ministry. It will include some anticipated Frequently Asked Questions and forms/resources you may need. I’ll let you know when it’s released.

How can I sign up for the mailing list?
Just head to our Contact Page and include in the text that you’d like to be added to the mailing list.
How can I register for the Parish?
The best way to register is to send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will forward you the appropriate paperwork. The other option is to head to our Contact Page and include in the text that you’d like to register for the Parish. Either way, someone will be in touch with you in the coming week.
Is it possible to give online? How can I do that?
There are multiple ways to give: a one-time or recurring gift through Canada Helps (found in the Give Online section of our website); via e-transfer to email@example.com; or by downloading and returning in-person or via scan and email a copy of the Pre-Authorized Giving (EFT) Forms.
Is it possible to register my child for Baptism? When are Baptisms held?
The easiest way to register is to give the Parish Office a call at 519-753-8439, or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also head to our Contact Page and include in the text that you’d like to have your child receive the Sacrament of Baptism. Someone will contact you shortly to discuss next steps and let you know about upcoming scheduled dates.
When are First Communion and Confirmation celebrations?
First Communion and Confirmation dates for 2020/2021 have not yet been selected. We are hoping to have dates and additional information available by the fall of 2020. Confirmation will likely take place in January or February, and First Communions will likely take place in the spring. All the information will be available on our Sacraments page once the dates have been selected.
